Audition Requirements

An audition is required to apply for a scholarship from the Gingery-Mack Scholarship Fund. Auditions are held live at the Bob Jones University campus on the dates listed above, or in extenuating circumstances, by submission of a high quality video.

It should be noted that a live audition is preferable and gives you the best opportunity to receive an award.

The following materials must be submitted electronically to the Selection Committee 3 weeks prior to your audition date (or postmarked 4 weeks before your audition date if sending by mail). 

  • Music Scholarship Application
  • Short Personal Essay
  • Repertoire Studied List
  • Teacher Recommendation Form
  • Video Link Submission Form * (Dropbox, Google Drive, YouTube Link)
    High quality videos only.
    *This form is only needed if you are not auditioning live.

Audition Procedures

1. You will perform two selections in contrasting style in entirety from the standard repertoire for your voice or instrument. Arrangements of gospel songs or selections from broadway or any other contemporary "pop" idioms are not considered standard repertoire. If you have any questions, please contact us as given below.

2. You should audition on your best instrument for the best chance at an award.

3. All auditions should be accompanied, with the exception of piano, harp, and guitar, unless the solo work was written for unaccompanied instrument.
